Cure Cancer Australia

50 years of life saving research

Cure Cancer Australia invests exclusively in the brightest innovators in cancer research, when it matters most – early in their careers when creative ideas and challenging perspectives burn brightest.

In 2017, Cure Cancer Australia celebrated their 50th year and to date have funded 316 scientists, 483 research projects and invested close to $27.5 million in cancer research grants.

Without these initial grants, some of the best and most innovative cancer researchers would not be able to secure future funding essential to turn their ideas into proven results.

Cure Cancer Australia identifies, assesses and funds research that can make a real difference. We support researchers across all cancer types and all areas of research.

Each successful grant applicant receives between $100,000 and $120,000 a year towards their research project. Many of our alumni are amongst the leaders in cancer research both in Australia and across the world.

Today, more than 900,000 Australians are living with cancer and millions more have a friend or loved one affected by it.

While survival rates have improved immensely over the past 50 years thanks to research, more people are being diagnosed every day.

It is only research that will find a cure for cancer. With help and support from the community, Cure Cancer Australia is committed to supporting the future of cancer research.
